B-Certificate and Packing Progression - 5th Apr 2012 - 6th Apr 2012

The cost for both events is £35 (£25 for packing & £10 for B license progression day). For anyone wishing to attend both events we are offering free accommodation in the bunkroom on the Wednesday nights. Places need to be booked/ paid for in advance by calling the dropzone on 01652 648837. 

In order to obtain your JM1 qualification which you need to get your B certificate you must "Receive a full brief on, and be able to undertake, packing, inspection and basic fault finding on a ram air canopy." 

The packing course will cover an introduction to packing and equipment maintenance. Staff packers, advanced packers and a rigger are available to answer any questions you have about your gear. For those wishing to learn to pack club kit there will the chance to observe and practise flat packing which is the first step towards getting a packing certificate. For those who want an introduction to pro-packing, or who have their own kit and want to gain the necessary log book endorsement to enable them to pack for themselves this method of packing will also be covered. 

Learning to pack takes time, don't worry if you don't reach the required level for a packing certificate or logbook endorsement in one day, you can continue to practise and get signed off when you are ready. 

On the B license progression days we will cover all the briefs required for your JM1 and CH2 and weather permitting we'll be jumping so you will get the chance to do your practical spotting too.
