8-way Scrambles - 23rd Jul 2011 - 24th Jul 2011

Dave West is planning a weekend of 8-way coaching in the form of a tailored scrambles meet.

Teams will be picked Saturday morning and intermediate draw will be made. The competition will then be held over 4 rounds of 8-way.

If you want to learn how to launch an 8-way chunk from the Dornier, smash out some amazing blocks and cruise home to a gold victory, then this is the place to be.

Please note that this event requires that participants have a good level of FS skill. Participants should have a good grounding in 4-way FS, and should be able to comfortably launch 4-way and turn multiple random and block points. Not sure you can? Let us know what your experience is and we can have a look!

See you there.

Skydive Hibaldstow's new event, the 8-way scrambles, promised a lot:

Launch an 8-way chunk, bust some blocks, cruise home to a gold victory... and delivered spectacularly.

Despite less than glorious July weather, all three teams completed the 4 rounds in good time on Saturday, and as usual Hib sorted out superb coaching/ organising for us with Shell Meakins, Dave West, Henry 'Chow Chow' Chow and Duncan 'Cobi' Cockburn. As probably the lowest experienced in my group I was giddy with excitement when our 3rd exit flew (and probably would even have owned up to it being a first, such was my glee at the time).

Despite my limited mad skillz we managed to turn some awesome blocks, and, indeed cruise home to victory with a fairly unbelievable 6.25 average. From comedy funnels to serious achievement, a great day was certainly had by all.

As always many thanks to Stubert and the organisers at Skydive Hibaldstow for a fantastic event.
