Tilstock Club News October

We had another busy couple of months at Tilly with 5 jumpers gaining their FS1. We’ve also had quite a few static line students completing their first jumps.

Caroline Vaughan completed the Chester Marathon and Juliana Bergel completed a half marathon, both in very impressive times. Well done both of you I know we were all very impressed and tired just at the thought of it!!

The next Tilly tunnel trip is arranged for 11th November and due to our large number of newly qualified FS1 jumpers we will be utilising the time to work on our four way skills with three of our FS coaches – Steve Cooper, Juliana Bergel and Phil Jenks.

We’ve run a further successful packing course and are taking names for the next one which will be run on a Sunday. If you are interested in a place call the DZ for details.

The Christmas Party and AGM is booked for 3rd December at the Hill Valley Hotel in Whitchurch. Tickets are £29.50. If you would like to come, drop Colin an email on skydive@theparachutecentre.com. If you have any special dietary requirements please let him know.

Martin Wilshaw one of our most experienced instructors and dear friend had a serious car crash on 14th October. I am very relieved to say he is recovering in hospital and is hoping to be home in the next week. Martin has been in the sport for over 40 years and he is known and loved by many skydivers. Once you have met Martin you don’t forget him and we all miss him dearly at Tilly and can’t wait for him to return. He has promised to come out for one of the now infamous Tilly curries when he is better and hopes to be at the Christmas party on 3rd December.
