As 2011 drew to a close we celebrated in true Tilly style at our Christmas party and AGM, a great night was had by all and for many it turned into a great morning and a sore next day!! We looked back on the best year ever at Tilly for jump numbers with only 11 days lost to the weather. 2011 was also a great year for safety with no experienced jumper injury’s (well skydiving related anyway!!)  The annual awards were given out by Colin and Lyn, student of the year was won by Dale Hamilton and club member of the year went to 2 members, Eddie Milnes and Steve Parton in recognition of all the work they have done improving the club.

We have welcomed back home one of our old friends, tandem instructor Tony Lightfoot and we also welcomed a new Tilly tandem instructor Lee Rhodes. Richard Barron will also be returning in January as an additional CSI.

Sally one of our manifesters and dear friend is leaving us again. We will all miss her and we’re glad that she managed to stick around for the Christmas party this year. She is off to sunnier shores back to the beautiful Caribbean island of Utila where she has a beer stool with her name on it!!

The Tilly tunnel trips have continued and we have been working on our four way skills, with everyone feeling the improvement!

Caroline Vaughan has been busy in the tunnel competing in the scrambles. She came second in the 3 way Milton Keynes scrambles and came first in the 4 way Manchester scrambles. She also won 5 minutes tunnel time at each scrambles. Well done Caroline.

Ellie Southworth achieved her FS1 by completing a wonderful 4 way managing 6 points from 9.6k!! Well done Ellie amazing achievement!

2012 promises to be a great year for Tilstock. Buzz has lots of things planned for experienced jumper progression as mentioned in the last update, so come and visit us. We’re open every Saturday from 14th January apart from the 28th January then from March we are open every Friday and bank holiday Monday. We will also be open on some Thursdays, dates to be confirmed.
